Data Security
For a utility, protection of Customer, Corporation, and Contractor
information is essential.
PEG’s main office router is a SonicWALL TZ Series network appliance that uses an expansive array of integrated services for gateway anti-virus, anti-spyware, intrusion prevention, enforced desktop anti-virus, content filtering that intelligently enforces and dynamically updates each of these services as new updates become available. When a utility's customer information transfer is completed & uploaded into the CheckMe! database, all customer information is removed from the sFTP server and backed up on removable storage media and stored in a secure location at PEG’s San Rafael, CA headquarters. During utility customer file transfer SSH File Transfer Protocol encrypts both commands and data, preventing passwords and sensitive information from being transmitted in the clear over the network and requires the server to authenticate the client before file transfer can begin. |
